What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care helps by removing any misalignments in the patient’s spine. A misaligned spine causing some symptoms, (Pain, loss motion, etc..) is called a Subluxation. The 3 signs of the Subluxation are lack of proper motion in the spinal joint, muscle tightness/spasm, and inflammation. Doctors of Chiropractic use various methods to fix these problems and get the patient back to moving and feeling better. We always give home rehab exercises to patients. This helps patients keep their pains away for as long as possible.

The spine has two major functions: one is to facilitate motion of the arms and leg, neck and trunk, and other is to PROTECT YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM. That is why Chiropractic is not just for neck and back pain, but also for Headaches and Migraines, Pinched Nerves, Sciatica, Vertigo, and other neurological problems and pains.

At Clover Chiropractic we are all trained in working on extremity problems as well. Pain and dysfunction in hip joints, knee joints, ankles, feet, hands, wrists, elbows, shoulders, and TMJ’s are conditions we treat on a regular basis.

Why do adjustments sometimes make a popping sound?

Adjustment of a joint may result in the release of a gas bubble between the joints, which makes a popping sound. The same thing occurs when you “crack” your knuckles. The noise is caused by the change of pressure within the joint, which results in gas bubbles being released.

There is usually minimal if any, discomfort involved. The adjustment is still deemed successful if the doctor confirms the joint has motion restored. For patients adverse to the noise from physical adjustments, and Activator Chiropractic Adjusting tool is used, allowing a lighter force adjustment with very good results as well.

Will my insurance cover my chiropractic care?

Is chiropractic care safe?

Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal complaints. Although chiropractic has an excellent safety record, no health treatment is completely free of potential adverse effects.

The risks associated with chiropractic, however, are very small. Many patients feel immediate relief following chiropractic treatment, but some may experience mild soreness, stiffness, or aching, just as they do after some forms of exercise. Current research shows that minor discomfort or soreness following spinal manipulation typically fades within 24 hours.

These patients are very smartly coming in before a problem gets severe. You could say, ”They are addicted to not being in pain and feeling good. “ I guess.

Why is health important?

A question many people find vague. It has an easy answer: “Being in pain, being sick, and not being able to do what you want is not fun.” Harshly said, it sucks.
